Sewing w/ Mentoring at Sewing and Fitting Mentor

Level: Intermediate to Advanced Sewists

Duration: 5 Weeks

Session Length: 2‑Hour, Self‑Paced Weekly Session

Class Description

Dive deeper into the world of sewing with our immersive Sewing w/ Mentoring program. These 2‑hour weekly sessions are designed for intermediate to advanced sewists who are ready to elevate their craft with expert guidance, hands‑on practice, and personalized mentorship.

If you’re determined to finally achieve garments that truly fit—this is the place. Our mentoring track includes Advanced Pattern Fitting, where we teach the renowned Palmer/Pletsch tissue‑fitting method. Standardized sewing patterns are only a starting point; every body is unique. Tissue‑fitting allows you to adjust the pattern before cutting fabric, ensuring your altered tissue reflects your real shape. Once your tissue is fitted, your pattern is ready to cut with confidence—no guesswork.

If you aspire to:

  • Master Advanced Sewing Techniques: Enhance your sewing skills with intricate stitches and methods that add a professional touch to your projects.

  • Achieve Personal Fit Adjustments: Perfect the art of altering patterns to fit any body type, making each creation uniquely yours through the process of creating your custom-fit pattern that reflects your body.

  • Conquer Challenging Fabrics: Skillfully work with delicate, heavy, or unconventional fabrics.

  • Utilize a Serger (Overlock) Machine: Build confidence in using a Serger to create polished seams and edges, enhancing the durability and finesse of your garments.

Class Benefits:

  • Tailored Mentorship: Receive personalized guidance and feedback from our seasoned instructor, tailored to your individual learning pace and goals.

  • Hands-On Experience: Engage in practical, hands-on activities that reinforce learning and skill development.

  • Collaborative Environment: Join a community of like-minded sewists, fostering creativity and support as you embark on your sewing journey together.

Whether you're looking to fine-tune your sewing skills, tackle new challenges, or transform your creative ideas into reality, our "Sewing w/Mentoring" classes offer the perfect blend of learning and mentorship.
