Learn to Sew Zippers Workshop
Have zippers been keeping you from sewing the garments you really want to make? You're not alone! Many sewists find zippers intimidating, but with the right techniques and a little guided practice, they're simply another skill you can confidently add to your sewing toolbox.
Join us for this hands-on, 3-hour workshop where you'll learn four of the most common zipper applications used in garment sewing. We'll discuss when each zipper is appropriate, why it's chosen for different garment styles, and walk through the construction step-by-step. You'll sew samples of each technique to create your own zipper reference sampler—a valuable resource you can keep with your sewing notebook and refer to whenever you're installing a zipper in a future project.
During this workshop you'll learn how to install:
Centered zippers
Lapped zippers
Fly-front zippers
Invisible zippers
By the end of class, you'll leave with a completed zipper reference sampler, increased confidence, and the knowledge to choose the right zipper application for your next sewing project—along with the skills to install it with beautiful, professional-looking results.
